COURSE DESCRIPTION

The “IBUS UPDATE IN BREAST IMAGING” is arranged by the International Breast Ultrasound School (IBUS), and hosted by the University of Ferrara’s Institute for Higher Studies.

It consists of a two-days basic course with lectures, interactive sessions and hands-on practical workshops followed by two-days of advanced topics on multimodality breast imaging and interventions.

Practical “hands-on” workshop sessions: US system optimization and scanning technique, vacuum assisted and core biopsies on phantoms, elastography, CAD and whole breast scanning.

 

The programme is available to clinicians and breast health professionals from all countries, and is presented in the English language. Comprehensive educational resource materials are provided.

The course is open to a maximum of 60 participants. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The deadline for the standard registration fee is JUNE 30th, 2012. After that date, a surcharge of 15% will be applied.

EUROPEAN and ITALIAN CME CREDITS

The "IBUS UPDATE IN BREAST IMAGING - basic and advanced course" will be accredited both by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and the Italian Ministry of Health (Italian CME Credits).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Certificates will be given only to participants who will attend the entire CME activity both for the basic and the advanced course.

REGISTRATION FEES

  • BASIC COURSE STANDARD FEE: Euros 600,00 (21% taxes excluded) - UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2012.
  • ADVANCED COURSE STANDARD FEE: Euros 600,00 (21% taxes excluded) - UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2012.
  • BASIC AND ADVANCED COURSE STANDARD FEE: Euros 1.000,00 (21% taxes excluded) - UNTIL JUNE 30th, 2012.

Members of EUSOBI, SIRM AND SIUMB are entitled to a 10% reduction. Members of those Societies are asked to upload the copy of the membership payment proof for 2012 in the registration form.

 

The deadline for the standard registration fees is JUNE 30th, 2012. After that date, a surcharge of 15% will be applied. No registration will be accepted after August 15th, 2011.

  • BASIC COURSE SURCHARGED FEE: Euros 690,00 (21% taxes excluded) - AFTER JUNE 30th, 2012.
  • ADVANCED COURSE SURCHARGED FEE: Euros 690,00 (21% taxes excluded) - AFTER JUNE 30th, 2012.
  • BASIC AND ADVANCED COURSE SURCHARGED FEE: Euros 1.150,00 (21% taxes excluded) - AFTER JUNE 30th, 2012.


Prices are given in Euros and include:

  • PARTICIPATION TO THE SCIENTIFIC and PRACTICAL SESSIONS ACCORDING TO THE TYPE OF COURSE CHOSEN
  • COMPREHENSIVE COURSE MATERIAL
  • CME CERTIFICATES (certification, in accordance with the CME regulation, will be given only to participants who attend the entire course (BASIC, ADVANCED OR BOTH)
  • LUNCHES and REFRESHMENTS

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations must be notified to the Secretariat by e-mail (convegni@unife.it) or by fax (+39 0532 767347) or by regular mail (please see Congress Secretariat's address below).

Registration fee will be refunded as follows:

  • Before JUNE 30th, 2012 - 80% of the amount paid will be refunded
  • After JUNE 30th, 2012 and until AUGUST 15th, 2012 - 40% of the amount paid will be refunded
  • After AUGUST 15th, 2012 - no refund will be made.

Dates refer to receipt of the cancellation notice.

No shows will not receive any refund.

The Secretariat is not responsible for travel, hotel and other costs incurred by participants in the event of program or registration cancellation.

ACCOMMODATION

The Course Secretariat offers to the FERRARA 2012 IBUS COURSE PARTICIPANTS a selection of Hotels (3 and 4 stars category) located in the city centre and 15 minutes distsant by feet to the Course Venue (view the map here).

Hotel Booking will be mande directly by the Course Secretariat upon requests made on the on-line registration form until JUNE 30th, 2012. After JUNE 30th, 2012 bookings shall be made only directly to Hotels (see the complete list here and select "Ferrara" in the localities or download a complete list of Hotels here).

SPECIAL RATES reserved for PARTICIPANTS shown are per room, per night, and they include breakfast and taxes (VAT 10%). Extras are excluded.

Therefore, registration to the Course is required prior to the hotel booking.

Hotel payment is the responsibility of participants and shall be be made directly to the hotel upon departure.

Reservations will only be confirmed if credit card details are fully supplied in the on line registration form as a guarantee of the hotel booking.

Each participant will receive an individual confirmation letter, indicating the name and the address of the Hotel shortly before the date of the Course.

The deadline for the hotel booking is JUNE 30th, 2012. Cancellations until that date must be communcated to the CourseSecretariat. After JUNE 30th, 2012, changes and cancellation must be communicated directly to the hotel.


HOTELS CANCELLATION POLICIES

Typically, one night will be charged if a cancellation is communicated later than 3-4 days prior to the arrival date. We strongly reccommend cancelling your reservation al least one week before your arrival date to avoid cancellation charges! The Course Secretariat is not responsible for the accommodation cancellation policy applied by the hotels in case of late cancellation or no show.
